The Paper Trail project is an industrial ‘exploration’ centre built around an historic paper mill. It offers public access into the heart of what was a real working environment and is complemented by an active business and industrial enterprise hub. The Frogmore Mill site is unique in the fact that it is the site of the world’s first ever commercial working paper machine and can be claimed to be at the heart of the communication revolution.
Our wide range of activities include:
- The Recycle for Learning ‘closed-loop’ recycling scheme for converting schools’ A4 waste paper into new paper for them to use.
- Workworld, our Schools’ Enterprise experience offering a unique one, two or four day work-related learning experience for secondary students.
- The Apsley Mills Conferencing Centre offering hi-tech presentation facilities in an historic location for gatherings of up to 70 people.
- Professional Development courses covering paper appreciation, print appreciation and paper making amongst others.
- Community support programmes in IT, art and design.
- Small business office space available on easy-in, easy-out terms in our purpose converted John Dickinson Enterprise Centre beside the Grand Union Canal.
