Neomari Beadcraft

neotraining Neomari Beadcraft

Neomari Beadcraft is a social enterprise based in Watford. We provide skills-based business and enterprise development support, mentoring and training for individuals and organisations looking to access, or already in the creative industry. We provide a pathway to sector-based learning, employment and enterprise. Our aim is to provide an avenue for people who would like to use their creative skills to improve their quality of life. We use craft based programmes such as jewellery making, and other soft crafts. We offer support to organisations, the private sector and individuals through mentoring, signposting and networking. Our partnerships with craft workers and artists enable us to promote and develop their skills.

Neomari offers business startup and social enterprise advice through SFEDI accredited business advisors as well as project management services. Neomari targets young enterprise and export planning for women through our Creative Experience and Women in Trade International projects. We specialise in work with Migrant and BME communities in the East of England, Eastern Europe and Africa.

Our Aims
Neomari has recognised that historically, many people from all backgrounds have been brought up with a craft – be it needlework, sewing, knitting and crocheting or painting and cooking. In today’s world these handicrafts are fast becoming hobbies, especially with the new technologies in place. We aim to deliver programmes that provide and encourage self-development and economic empowerment especially for creative people in grass root communities, using craft based learning and promotion as a medium.

Neomari BeadCraft is the trading arm of the company and we make jewellery and beadwork and also run leisure classes. We encourage and facilitate networking and collaborations between craft workers internationally.

Main Programmes

  • Business Enterprise Development
  • Introduction to Jewellery Making and Business
  • Creative Experiences (young people)
  • We also offer tailor-made craft based business courses.

BeadCycle
BeadCycle is a project that helps aspiring bead workers in Africa. Our focus is on skills development and technique, as well as business startup and resourcing of materials. BeadCycle will donate surplus beads, findings, training material and tools to aspiring beadworkers who are either on low income or unemployed. The project collects surplus or leftover resources to distribute to these communities, and where funding is available we offer short training and development courses to our recipients.
